I'm constantly inspired by the way intangible ideas become tangible, often right in front of my eyes in video village, and are able to create an impact on others. I can't imagine a more rewarding career because of this.
Creative burnout is inevitable in this industry but finding ways to escape the norm helps get my mind back outside of the box. Whether deep in the mountains, or just in the backyard, getting outside and away from routines keeps me inspired.
I wish someone would have told me to not take life so seriously. Creativity thrives when you can embrace your natural abilities and excel at what you do best. Putting too much pressure on what the right and wrong creative decision is stunts creativity faster than taking risks ever does.
Spearfishing. Nothing puts me in Flow state quicker than diving to 90ft on a single breath in a foreign environment like the sea, hunting for fish and swimming with sharks. Maybe not for everyone but it's 100% for me.
I tend to gravitate towards short form or series style storytelling, and the series that sticks with me forever is Devs, directed by Alex Garland. If you know me, you know I can sit and talk for hours about existential topics and this series navigates one of the biggest in a way that was not only mesmerizing but mentally captivating. If you're a deep thinker, I highly recommend!
